OBJECTS OF MOVEMENT       2025

Objects of Movement is a fusion of dance and design.

Besides interior and design, modern dance is one of my greatest passions. I had always considered these two interests as separate parts of my life until, in this project, I came up with the idea of bringing them together.

 

Can I translate the atmosphere, style, and feeling of dance into design? Can I transform something that is a fleeting moment into something lasting, something immaterial into something material?

 

For this project, I transformed the movement of dance into horizontal forms. I performed the dance and captured it through sketches. These line forms were then developed into three-dimensional figures in space, without losing the sense of movement. This process resulted in a wall-mounted coat rack.

 

I created a triptych for this project, each piece inspired by a different approach to dance: my own style of modern dance, Graham technique, and partner work.
